This is a Kyo-ware(*) incense container called
Kogo in Japanese.
It was originally made for tea ceremony to contain incense in it.
Of course, you can use it in any ways with your creative idea.
The motif (or design) of this incense container is "Dragon".
So
written on the wooden box by the artist (photo #10).

Kyo-ware is a typical pottery made in Kyoto,
It is made of clay. As for this particular kogo, (1) cray is formed into dragon's face, (2) baked in a kiln, (3) dragon's face is depicted with color grazes, (4) inside is coated with gold color graze, and (5) finally baked again in the kiln.
Result
is very vivid. Kyo-ware pottery are widely used in
tea ceremony.

KAWAI Nori (河合 紀)
.
He is a reputable pottery artist in Kyoto and produces mainly tea utensils.
On the wooden box, he signed and stamped his seal (photo #11).
Condition:
It is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks at all.
