ANTIQUE CHINESE (c. 1852) SIGNED WOODEN LIDDED MONGOLIAN LUNCH BOX

Description

Known as a Mongolian lunch box, this is a well made lidded box with strong handle.  It is made of a hard wood (probably elm) with several coats of dark burgundy lacquer and signed in red on the bottom.  The cost 20 years ago was 0 (see tag picture 9).  Yours for a fraction of the price today.  Guaranteed to be in excess of 150 years of age with a nice patina to show for it.  It has a date written in Chinese on the bottom which states:
2nd year of Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty (1852)

It measures 12" long by 7" deep by 13" tall with handle (31 x 17.5 x 33 cm). Incredible craftsmanship went into the construction of this lidded box with mitered corners and perfectly fitted lid.
